Vaginoplasty

Vaginoplasty or vaginal rejuvenation is growing in popularity and has become widely accepted in the medical community as a reconstructive procedure.  There are several phrases used to describe this procedure: vaginal tightening, vaginoplasty and intimate surgery.  Women request tightening of the vaginal canal for several reasons: natural birth trauma, previous surgery with improper healing and reduced sensation during intercourse. The surgery itself involves rebuilding and tightening the muscles of the vaginal walls and perenium.

Urogynecologists have the most advanced training and experience for performing pelvic surgeries. Different doctors use different methods, some prefer lasers and cautery devices over scissors and scalpels, the results are all dependent on the surgeons experience.

Vaginal rejuvenation surgery generally takes between 60 and 90 minutes when not combined with other procedures.  Many women opt for a combination labiaplasty and vaginoplasty.

The surgical fee for a vaginoplasty starts at $5500, this does not include general anesthesia or operating room fees (if necessary). Insurance does not cover vaginal rejuvenation, labiaplasty or hymenoplasty surgeries.  Each case is unique and a consultation is necessary to see if you are a candidate and to obtain an accurate cost.
